The European Network for Gender Balance in Informatics (EUGAIN) works on improving diversity in informatics at all levels through creating a network that is directed to researchers in Europe. Therefore, we especially seek for the participation of females.
One of EUGAIN's core activities is the advancement and support of students' career development. For this purpose, a study on career paths in informatics including this questionnaire is conducted.
What is the aim of this questionnaire?
This questionnaire aims at uncovering and analysing the perceptions and intentions of students related to continuing their education and career towards starting PhD studies.
Persons who fill out this questionnaire benefit from higher awareness in terms of specific insights and aspects that impact individual career development plans.
Who is this questionnaire meant for and how to understand the questions?
- If you are a BACHELOR or MASTER STUDENT, the questions are ready-made to fit your situation, asking about the way you perceive your current studies and what thoughts you have about starting PhD. Whether you consider starting a PhD or you do not plan to, we would like to know the thoughts that are driving your decision.
- If you are a PHD STUDENT or POST-DOC or PROFESSOR, your thoughts to the time when you were deciding whether to start PhD are very valuable to us. Please fill out the questions as if you were answering back then.
- If you are in INDUSTRY (or outside academia), we want to learn about your thoughts during the time when you were a student. Please share your thoughts about why you did not start a PhD with us.
It takes 10 to 15 minutes to fill out this survey.
Thank you for your time!
The results of this study will be published on the European Network for Gender Balance in Informatics' website. Please visit https://eugain.eu for details.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a system bug, you will see an error message when you have completed and submitted the survey. Nevertheless, your answers are stored in our system. We continue to work on fixing this issue.
